You could ask me, as I could ask you, as we shall never exit from any given argument ever again. A way out would be to only judge an outcome, never a person, while announcing any perceived fact.
If you do something I find stupid and I call you stupid for it, we all lose. As you'll feel very offended, because such a judgment is absolutely degrading for the human person you are, as this is not a way to win an argument.
If, on the other hand, I call stupid a thing you do, as in: "you did something really stupid here", you might feel less like killing me, and we shall feel all better for it.
It does work in a positive outset as well. What you did was genius, instead of you're a genius. What you said was right, instead of you're right, and so on.
Because people we are, and while participating in the creative game we call Life, we probably should manage to be more pleasant to one another, less disgraceful, for a change.
