New Adventures in Materiality

The rule of Law as a criminal enterprise

As a continuation from so-called sacred texts, as an organized vengeance facilitator, but mostly as a powerful shield for the privileged, the Justice System has us believe that "Ignorance of the Law is No Excuse". I beg to differ, as I now believe ignorance of the Law can be bliss.

Law in itself being nothing but a complicated charade, including Justice inner processes, which keeps us all in shackles. These should be exposed and thoroughly discussed, and ultimately be disposed of, as we do not need complicated, costly and ultimately inefficient Justice. Businesses maybe, for b2b related matters only, but not everyday people. Law for the people is simple, and should be treated simply.

Up to now, the Rule of Law has been the rule of God. A big bad God. Most of the Bible, the Torah and the Quran is made from carefully written but primitive texts of Law. Using the idea of an authoritative and vengeful God, clerics and politics were always able to push the fear of the Almighty as a way to pass unpopular, if not plainly offensive rulings against most people. I'm not talking about the Ten Commandments here, which are very basic things that we all understand and agree upon, killers and rapists included.

I'm talking about more sensitive stuff, like: how to deal with dissent, how to obey clerics and rulers, how to dress, what not to eat, how many whiplashes or stone throws for this and that, what to say in public, how to internalize shame and other degrading cancer inducing emotions, how to use and degrade women and child, how to hate, when to hate and who to hate, what to pay for and how much, who to give to and who to take from, and then some.

Then Law can also be a tool for channelling mob vengeance, when required, always to the benefit of the rulers. Making a crude example out of some bloke thru a public blood spill, as a way to simultaneously please and instill fear in the crowd, is a great recipe for mass control. Modern public trials are serving the same purpose.

Which brings us to the ultimate beneficiaries of the actual Rule of Law and Justice Systems: the privileged. Those who own. The 1%. The top crust. The rich and powerful. Those people we look up to and idolize. They really are no different from us. They are no lizards or wizards. They are just regular people like us. Like us, they are moved by emotions. And like us, they have poor judgment. The only thing they have over us is the stuff nobody really need: tools for control over others. As we are all free willed and breathing and living human beings, nobody needs control upon anybody, because control eats us all from the inside. Control kills. Control is cancer.

Down a few years from public hanging and bloody gallows, one can contemplate just how modern countries under the Rule of Law and equipped with a Justice System have mostly ditched the idea of a fear mongering God, to evolve in becoming genuine criminal enterprises ruled by some power class. I will not throw examples and names because identifying the power class is very simple: anyone trying to convince you to do something you don't feel like doing is part of it. All you have to do is say no to them. Because ultimately, you are in control of your own self. This is the only way control works.
