How one would bring about the prospect of an universal unique identifier, for people?
In an era of identity thefts, fraud, and authentically automatically spit out credentials, where for sale databases saturated with private individual coordinates pop up seemingly all the time and everywhere, in this blessed era where shiploads of factors of authentication are never enough to access the stuff belonging to your online user presence, there's just two questions that will be left unanswered: aren't you fed up of being dragged in the mud, one techno fad after another, and what will you accept as a remedy?
Not that we aren't living in an era of constantly puffed up genuine miracles. I mean, I do realize where we're at, from where we've been coming from, in the far recent period my body been on this Earth, but.
Every contemporary advance in easyness has been pushed on just the way a pact with some Devil would have been made: here's a shiny new trick, grab it, pay later. Tenfold. With your blood.
I'm not advocating adopting a totally backward stance toward technological advancements. I'm just saying, this is not what I've bargained for. Or more aptly: this isn't optimal for anyone or anything. While you make money driving people crazy, lots of time and efforts have been dilapidated for regressive results.
But of course, because things are never framed in a big enough perspective to begin with, one's regression always profit someone else charity fund, and all that. Nevertheless, I do get a sense that self defined wide minded benefactors have us in some wildely loosing dilemma. Call it looser's paradox. While we enjoy new mind trickeries, we're loosing on essentials, with fractally repeating predicaments.
Beside saying no, what should we do? What should we ask for, for the sake of our so-called "own protection"? Meh. Maybe we should totally give up what we've left and giddily accept to be tagged, like glorified cattle. One unique identifier for each of us, for all on Earth. One unfalsifiable unique universal code to access everything, from social services and tax returns to consumer credit.
Because this is where we're heading, steadily. And at this rate, folks will soon beg for it. Maybe the question isn't when or how it will come up, but who will own it. You, owning your own digital footprint, or the next guy, owning us all.
